My favorite color is brown. With that being said, although my favorite holiday season is Christmas, I love decorating for fall. The many variations of brown, orange, burgundy, and green. *Sigh* Creating the perfect fall tablescape can be fairly simple. Find your color scheme. Find the materials you would like to use, it doesn’t have to be an elaborate display, unless you like extravagance…like myself. Here are some examples:

Simplicity is Nice

A easy color scheme, with one or two colors – white and gold accents, etc.
Lightly layer all of the decor and flatware to your liking with antique and new pieces adorning the table. Give the decor a chance to shine, so place it in one line down the center of the table.

Using Tablecloth & Runners
The key is to layer your items on the table to stand out. Use a solid color runner, free from ornamentation, stacking items in a single line down the middle like a cornucopia train.
Another way – take light fabric, faux silk, satin, chiffon or polyester and gather the fabric atop the table in a zig-zag motion adding table decor evenly in every other open space.

Take a light solid colored tablecloth and apply a darker colored runner over it and style decor and flatware over it. See example here:
