That was fast! The holiday season was here and now it’s over. Here are great tips for storage:
We’re here for a good time, not a long time. So let’s take some time to put your holiday decor away with less fuss than it took to put it up. If you have added items to your holiday cheer and now you need to find ways to put them back but the original packaging is too bulky, check this out:
Of course you have the usual bins and boxes at your disposal. Every year around the holiday season they add more of the red and green bins to the choice list and increase the price just in time for you to spend twice as much to store your items for another holiday season. *Oh joy*
You don’ t need a post that shows you the different bins that you could easily find on your own let’s look at some storage items that you could use that you may already have on hand.
Delicate Items Storage
For items small in detail but delicate and fragile ornaments. Plastic cups, yes, drinking cups are a way to store your Christmas decor.
Place your ornaments in the plastic containers and place the cups in a box or container that will prevent the deocrations from moving about or tipping over while being stored.
Use zip ties to keep your cords and ligths together. Another hack would be to take towel rolls (full size or half) or cardboard squares to use as a wrap holder to hold cords.
Another tip: save time and sanity by storing items in sections and labeling the boxes. I can’t tell you how many times I see people searching through box after box to find the one item they need to put up. Having packing/storage list labeled on each box helps to find items quicker and makes it easy when it is time to restore the decor to the bins after the season is done.
Happy storing
