Yes, I have faux flowers…you should too. Don’t get me wrong. There is nothing better than the real thing, however faux flowers saved the day for me many times.

I placed a bevy of faux flowers all over my dining tabe and assembled it like a showroom. We hardly use the dining table except for special guest and I thought this would be a great way to put to use some of the stems that are stored away. I’m glad I did. It clears the table to be celebrated in its own way and brings out the beauty in the room.
One thing I have learned in recent years, is that I am no longer waiting for the special occasion to bring out the “nice” things, or wear the “good” outfit. Feel free to do what you like but I want to LIVE now.
The flowers that I have placed on the table are a mix of hydrangeas, poppy flowers, calla lillies, fountain grass, real branches, and gracillimus grass. I used a mix of glass vases that I had stored around the house. Each one deserved its own shine.

The real branches were so tall that it scraped against my ceiling. So I moved them to the buffet table.
I purchase my faux flowers from various places. I love to shop Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, At Home, IKEA and HomeSense, just to name a few. I try to catch the florals on sale because it can get a little pricey. Thankfully, the flowers won’t die out so I get my money’s worth over and over again.
For Real Tho…
I love, loVE, LOVE real flowers…full stop! Fresh cut, straight from the garden, farmers market, or still on the bush (minus the bees). The flowers bring life to any room and puts a smile on a face of the recipient. Just try it, you won’t be disappointed.

The best time to pick up flowers is early spring. The farmers are unloading the fresh batch of the first years harvest. You can find a great mix. As the season grows and moves into summer, the flowers are still plentiful but the selection may wane.
The best place to find real fresh flowers are were you ay least expect it. Of course, the farmers market’s, which I highly recommend (support local), but Aldi has a great supply of fresh flowers, same for Costco, and your local grocer. There are times when the local florist may need to get rid of flowers and may discount some of their bounty. Check in your area to see the best deals.
All in all, you can’t go wrong with either. They are both fabolous and serve a beautiful purpose. Whether you’re team faux or team real, rep your set to the fullest. I’m team both, so I win either way.
Whatever you do, make it beautiful.
