Design therapy. What is it? What does it mean for you? What do I want to share with you? Let’s go over it. I pray that you find some healing and helpful tips with it.
What is Design Therapy?
Our definition of design therapy is – through design and style, the therapeutic ways of maintaining your home while experiencing a busy life, anxiety, bouts of depression, etc. The key ways to ensure the upkeep of your home, giving you the ability to heal in your time without feeling the pressure to constantly be in the state of mind to cook and clean. These steps will help you prepare – set a lifestyle of maintaining your space for the time when you will need to take a mental break.
What Does it Mean for You?
Studies have shown that your home is usually the first thing that is neglected when your are not at your best or have over extended your schedule. It is tying closely with your diet which then leads to poor health. It is our hope that design therapy isn’t just a means to put things in pretty little boxes and stack them on top of each other to make them look aesthetically pleasing (which I totally get). It is a method to help set yourself and your home up for success by keeping in mind the ways and means to maintain your home or space(s) in your home for you to retreat to while you are feeling the weight of -insert here- whatever you are going through.
What Do I Want to Share?
My hope is that you find these suggestions and tips helpful. That you share them with someone else and that person shares them with someone else. This should be something that we can all share with each and help lift one another up. Anything that helps someone else when they are not feeling their best benefits us all. It is also my hope that this is compounded upon and made into regular practice. This whole grind to you fall idea or do it all perfectly needs to be put to rest forever.
